JUST WAR

In the Middle Ages, St. Augustine presented the Just War theory. He believed that war was a sin, while still having an understanding that it also inevitable. He believed the only rationalization for war was to hope to achieve peace.
He created seven principles of the Just War.
The seven are:
1.) Last Resort
- he believes that one should try everything else, before resorting to war.
2.) Initiated by the government or a higher power- No one but the government can begin war.
3.) Chance of success- If one does not have any chance of winning, one shall not proceed.
4.) Right intentions- Make sure that you are going into war for good reasons. Morally correct and all.
5.) Re-establish peace- peace and love, brother!
6.) Proportionality- use a minimum amount of force
7.) Don't attack civilians- like "don't fuck with the cows"... self explanatory
